Trigg County Hospital Expands Cardiac Care with HeartFlow Analysis, an Accurate, Non-Invasive Test for Coronary Artery Disease

CADIZ, KY – Trigg County Hospital (TCH) is proud to announce the addition of HeartFlow Analysis to its existing Coronary CT Angiography (CCTA) program, further expanding the advanced technology and diagnostic capabilities available to patients close to home.

HeartFlow Analysis is a non-invasive, AI-enabled technology that uses standard coronary CT scans to create a highly detailed, patient-specific 3D, color-coded model of the coronary arteries. The technology provides physicians with insights into plaque type, the degree of vessel narrowing, and the potential impact on blood flow—helping them better understand the significance of coronary artery disease (CAD) and determine the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

The technology can provide physicians with deeper insight into coronary blood flow and the functional significance of arterial blockages, supporting more informed clinical decision-making and, in some cases, helping patients avoid unnecessary invasive procedures.

With the addition of HeartFlow, TCH's cardiac imaging program now offers:

• Advanced Plaque Analysis – Identifies the amount, type, and location of plaque within the coronary arteries, including higher-risk plaque that may not be detected through a traditional calcium score scan.
• Fractional Flow Reserve Analysis (FFR-CT) – Helps determine how plaque buildup may be affecting blood flow through the coronary arteries, providing valuable information to help guide treatment decisions.
• Roadmap Analysis – Provides an anatomic visualization of the patient's coronary arteries to aid physicians in interpreting CCTA results.

Together, these insights allow physicians to more thoroughly evaluate the extent and potential impact of a patient's coronary artery disease while supporting personalized treatment plans.

In collaboration with TCH's cardiology program, HeartFlow provides cardiologists with additional information to support clinical decision-making. Depending on each patient's individual needs, treatment may include medical management, lifestyle modifications, or targeted interventional procedures.
