Paramedic - PRN - Emergency Department
Provide quality patient care in the Emergency Department as a Paramedic. Functions within the scope of practice of a Paramedic as defined within state regulations. Provides patient care and performs patient care procedures, including but not limited to IV insertions, wound cleansing and dressings, immobilizations, medication administration, and reassessment of patient. Provides any and all ACLS interventions including, but not limited to endotracheal intubation and cardiac defibrillation. Responds to Code Blue within the hospital. Completes documentation in electronic medical record to indicate treatments, procedures and medication administered or performed. Consults as needed with supervising nurses and ER physician/medical director regarding patient condition and treatment. Assists with transfers, admissions and discharges. Perform triage, initial patient assessments or provide discharge instruction to patients in the Emergency Department.

QUALIFICATIONS: Kentucky Licensed Paramedic, ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required

REPORTS TO: Chief Nursing Officer

Trigg County Hospital is a 25-bed critical access facility located near beautiful Lake Barkley and scenic Land Between the Lakes. The hospital opened its doors to the citizens and visitors of Trigg County and the surrounding area on April 22nd, 1952. That day, Former Kentucky Governor, Lawrence Wetherby, made a statement which still very much describes Trigg County Hospital to this day: "There are larger hospitals in the world, but none more efficient or beautiful."
